I had been shooting the Takumars I own mounted to a Sony A7ii or a Sony NEX5n and had been reluctant to post here as it was non Pentax gear.
The K20D i loved to use developed an incredibly annoying artifact on all the images consisting of a straight line from one edge to about 45% into the fame in the lower left of the frame.
I suppose I could have left it alone and superimposed a signature line just above it but I couldn't stop being annoyed.
Recently I moved the camera along to someone I hope can appreciate using it for a while and bought a gently used K5. Pretty pleased with the "new" camera and the old lenses.
So with increased confidence in belonging on this forum I post the following images I took using the Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 50 1.4 (can you legitimately contract this to SMC or S-M-C?)
I have several versions of the Takumar 50 1.4 and prefer the first two issues. This one is no slouch and I thought great fun to use. While underexposing on the K5 at the wider apertures there is a charm to the images and a little post processing goes a long way.
