My Takumars have been neglected for quite a while so I took the 55mm f/2 out yesterday on the K3 and am now wishing I had the 105/2.8 with me.

I can't decide which of the grape photos I like more, but they both have a very nice rendering.

Here you go. Flare somewhat exaggerated by my ACR settings. Takumar 58mm f/2 on K-1, f-stop not recorded, probably f/2.8.

I did not say anything about superpowers. The old 58mm Takumar is not very good by the standards we have come to expect since the 1960s from ~50mm lenses. But it is quite special in its rendering. And it is no doubt unique due to the fact that it is the only Sonnar type standard lens for SLR ever built (more information here: Early Pentax Takumar Lenses).

Takumar 200mm f/3.5

Both with Super-Takumar 35mm f/3.5 with Fuji c200 film:

Without a hood, shooting directly into the sun. I have seen worse, even from multi-coated lenses.

A very pleasant and peaceful shot, Paul. And the perfect lens for that photo. That is one of my favourite Taks - a beautiful lens whose design has stood the test of time.

Another of the pictures I have recently found and processed. Looking towards the sunrise from the layby just north of Clanfield on A4095 on a cold February morning.
K3, ISO800, 35mm. Not sure if it was the SMCTak35/3.5 or SMCTak 35/2. Given the 'against the light' orientation this matters for judgements about the series of lenses.

The second is of the rubbish bin, with frost on the plastic lid using the same kit.

Eventually fixed the rotation problem. A change of user interface of the Microsoft viewer which I used to rotate. It used to save the rotated version, not only saves a message to view it differently.

Adam can you come to the rescue on this long-standing rotation problem?

Sorry the rubbish bin is lying on its side, I tried rotating the image and PF still laid it on its side. I used the 'auto rotate' setting in the K3 so it looks the right way up on my machine, but I cannot get it to rotate by rotating and saving the rotated image on my HD - but PF shows it just the same. I did change the file name so PF would not think it was a copy of the same file. What do I need to dso to get PF to show the images in their proper orientation?

I have the same problem with PF rotating my photos. Adam, can anyone do anything about this problem????

Ivan, thanks. I created a new thread, I believe under questions related to PF.

Another potentially relevant fact is that I am using the Silkypix shipped with my K3 for processing.
