If you can forgive the sacrilege of posting a crappy snapshot from a little Canon point-and-shoot in the Takumar Club, here's what it looks like. The exterior dimensions are just 48cm high, 29cm wide and 32cm deep, but it holds as much as I need it to hold. In fact, I've found that having such a finite space to store things helps to keep LBA under control. Anything that isn't getting used often enough goes, to be replaced by something that will hopefully suit my tastes better.

On the top shelf at the front are the 18-55mmWR, Takumar 17mm Fisheye, and Super Takumar 55mm/2.0. Behind them are the Super Takumar 35mm/2.0, SMC Takumar 105mm/2.8, SMC Takumar 28mm/3.5, and a couple of other non-Takumar oddities. On the bottom shelf in front is the Samsung GX-10 (K10D) with the Super Takumar 20mm, and just visible behind it is the K-S1 with the SMC Takumar 24mm/3.5.

Serious collectors would want a much bigger version, but this one suits my needs just fine and cost under £100. Highly recommended if you live in a damp climate. I keep mine set to 35% humidity, but in the couple of seconds with the door open that it took to snap this photo the display had already gone up to 50%. And that's nowhere near ambient, which I don't think I've ever seen below 80%.
Thanks very much Dave, I had a quick scout around and was only able to locate a similar one on Amazon UK, two models one for £377 and another for £399, I shall enquire further. I recently upgraded to the 18-55 WR because the weather of late has been poor, it held up better than I did yesterday.

Takumar 85 f1.8 @f4 I believe, kind of in a rush so I might've missed the focus a little.

Yikes, those Amazon prices are crazy. Somebody on ebay has got what looks like the same as mine for £79.95. They've managed to photograph it so that it looks like it holds a lot less. Or maybe Canon equipment is just HUGE. (Usual disclaimer: I have no connection to the seller of any kind). New 38L Dry Cabinet Storage for Camera Lens/Antique Special offer £79.95 | eBay

Yes, a separate hood for each lens, which stays always attached. Some are original Takumar hoods and some are modern, and since I haven't shot any film for over a year now I use the hood sizes that work for best APS-C. So most of the original Takumar hoods aren't actually on the lenses they were intended for. I've got the original leather cases for most of my Taks, but I use them as handy little storage boxes for all sorts of non-photographic odds and ends. The lenses themselves are stored in my dry cabinet, which is an essential in the Dartmoor climate.
Thanks Dave for the extra info. I don't really ever use a hood, not something I've thought of - except lenses that have their own hood that pulls out. What's the difference you've noticed in shooting, or is it mainly for protection of the front of the lens? I've always thought lens hoods were to reduce flare, but not at all minding a bit of flare myself I haven't bothered.

Like you I've hardly shot any film this year, whereas at my peak maybe 18-24 months ago I was shooting 12 rolls a month or more on Pentax K and Contax bodies (both mostly with M42 lenses). Buying the K10D in May was an absolutely gamechanger for me - a camera that gives much of the tactile pleasure, and handling, and immersive viewfinder experience of film bodies, plus I could use my vintage Pentax K and Takumars easily, plus it gives me results that don't look clinically digital, but actually rather warm, natural, and dare I say it, getting towards film-like...

Just been taking stock of my film this evening in fact - about 60 rolls so far and I'm only about a quarter in. Time for a big sell up to maybe fund a new Takumar... Knew I'd get back on topic by the end of this ramble... : )

Adds to the 300 f4 and 200 3.5 preset i already have
I had one of these and really liked it... ...But I sold it because I also have the Super-Multi-Coated Tak 120/2.8, and preset Tak 135/3.5, both of which I prefer, are a bit faster, and are for me close enough in focal length to be almost duplicates of the 150mm. I also have a couple of other 135mm M42 lenses I really like (Zeiss Sonnar 135/3.5, Jupiter-37A 135/3.5) so the 150/4 just wasn't getting any use. For me this was the longest lens I've had, but sounds from the other lenses you mention like this is virtually a wide angle compared with what you're used to. Enjoy!

The 150/4 gave me some predictably good results the few times I did use it of course...

I think of the hoods mostly as protection. They've definitely saved a front element from getting scratched a few times, and when those first rain drops start to fall they hit the hood and not the glass, buying me time to put the cap on and get the camera back in the bag.

The hoods also reduce flare in certain circumstances, of course you need the sun to come out of hiding for that to occur.

Nice pictures
I like the cropping and isolating focus capabilities of zooms or teles in this range
I currently have many lenses from 18 mm- 300 mm mostly older classic manual lenses Ive collected the past couple of years

One of the local carvers has permission to carve into the bark of the big cottonwoods here in Cottonwood Island Park. Here is one of his dragons. K-1+Stak 55/1.8 @ f/5.6.

My first posted photo with my "new to me" Macro-Takumar 50mm f4 on the K-3. I am also using it for my first attempt in the Single in... Challenge.

SMC Takumar 55mm f/1.8 + Red filter

I was surprised that the headlight on the bike didn't cause any filter / other funkiness. I use Marumi multi-coated filters and have never had a problem with them. They are easy to clean too.

Auto Takumar 55mm f/2 + "integral" yellow filter

Both on Seagull 400 film. I'm happy.
