Now that is the type of shot a 20mm Tak is made for. Excellent.

SPII+ Auto-Takumar 55mm f/2 and Velvia 50. It's probably my favorite combo when shooting just for fun.

Those are wonderful, with that special look that only a good slide film can give you. I'm very eager to try the new Ektachrome when it comes out, and if it's as good as I hope then I can certainly imagine myself returning to shooting mostly film.

Here's some recent DSLR "scans" of Velvia 50 shots, done as experiments to get myself set up for slides again. Original slides all shot with the Super Takumar 20mm. (Previously posted in the film thread.)

Who's the fairest of them all? Taken with a S-M-C Takumar 200/4. Loved this lens on film cameras, not so impressed with it on digital crop sensors. But now it's on a full-frame K-1, I think my copy is back to its former glory.

A superb image. I have not tried my SMC Tak 200/4 on either my K10D or my K-3. I must do that and see what sort of result I get.

Yes, Dave, I can see what you mean. Those images of yours definitely have a special look. I will look forward to seeing more slide scans from you and I support your dedication to film shooting. However, I can't see myself moving away from digital.
I do have a Konica Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400 (Mk1) film & slide scanner that has not been used for a long time and I am trying to enthuse myself to get it going again mainly just to see if it still works.
It has produced some great scans for me bit it does take a long time per frame (compared to digital). But I am retired so I am not working to a deadline, am I? I will do it...one day.

I have just been doing some research and there probably will be problems getting a driver for that scanner with Windows 10. Fortunately, I do have Vuescan which normally works with all scanners and all operating systems. I love a challenge so let's go. I shall report back.

As promised above, I have taken a couple of quick shots with the SMC Tak 200/f4 on my K10D. I have not tried it yet on a full-frame camera but I think it did pretty well on a crop sensor.
JPGs processed with ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate.
