Something a bit more drab after these nice colorful flowers! Taken about a month ago on some nearby lake trails (more to come). Super Tak 35/3.5 on *ist D. Love the rendering of this lens

Super Multi Coated Macro-Tak 50 on k70. I purchased a Blue Oyster mushroom kit, and grew them in my kitchen. When they started to produce I just had to break out my favorite tak. They grew quickly--after visual growth, we harvested 2 days later. The pretty blue lasts maybe 24 hours, after that it darkened to an earthy bronze color. Good fun (and they tasted good too!).

Is there a significant difference between Pentax camera bodies for Takumar (manual M42) lens use or are they basically all the same? I mean function-wise, not IQ. I know I should know this already, but all this manual lens green button thing has been a bit of a mystery to me and I have not used my manual lenses that much. Now that I am considering finally getting the K-1, I wonder if I should dedicate one of my older camera bodies (K-x, K20D, K-5) for M42 (I think I have at least the 50/4 preset Macro-Takumar, the 28/3.5 Takumar and the 50/1.4 Takumar).

Interesting comments and questions. I have set aside an otherwise almost unused Pentax K-20 for all my Takumar lenses. This camera also has a split-prism focussing screen, which is convenient since the Taks lack auto-focussing. It is faster and more convenient, though not necessary, to use a separate camera to avoid changing out the adapter every time I want to use one of these lenses.
