I've just joined and I'll add more Tak 20 snaps as I take them. I really hope the group catches on so that we can see what people around the world are doing with this magical lens.

It should be fun - thanks! I need to dust off my Tak 20 and give it some work - meanwhile here's an older one (probably a re-post). Will be adding more soon.

Thanks for joining, Dave. I agree with you. It's a versatile lens so there are probably some interesting photos out there.

It's fascinating to see some Tak 20 shots on the K-1 and I hope you post more. Is the touch of vignetting in the top one from the lens itself or from a hood slightly obscuring the corners? I've never noticed any vignetting with 35mm film, but you do need to very careful about which hood you use.

Spider on a leaf on balcony today. It was in a very relaxed mood as it seemed happy to have a Super-Multi-Coated Macro Takumar 100mm and various tubes pointed at it. K3 camera hand held at ISO1600.

Thanks for your comments Dave ! I will be posting more pictures ... because I shooted a hole day using my new to me Tak 20, and I realized when editing this vignetting you are pointing. No hood on the lens but a Quandary (thick) filter ! I did some proof with and without the filter and the vignetting decrease enormously but still remains, no blackness but some darkness of the colors.

Someone here having the issue ?

Dave, do you use the original hood, the rectangular one? I was lucky when I bought mine that the seller offered both lens and case and the original pouches for each, and at least the original front cap, I forget whether I got the original rear cap with this lens.

The thick filter would explain it. My lens and kit are upstairs. But I recall the hood comes in two, separable parts - one that is effectively a step-up ring to go from the 58mm filter mount to about 67mm, then the metal hood. Clearly, recognition that the angle of the lens would not allow 'normal' filters was part of the original design understanding of it.

Also, it is possible to get bother with the two parts biting together too tight, so some care in use is needed.

BTW: I can place at least one normal 58mm filter on it on K3 without vignetting.
