I do own maybe 3 other legacy 35mms (Auto Chinon and Mamiya/Sekor) and a M 35/2.8 = but the Takumar just blows them out of the water. Great little lens.
I have the M 35/2.8 also, and mine is SCARY sharp, and does that almost Limited 3D rendering at times, especially in close focus, shallow DOF situations. Maybe I got an exceptional copy?
My biggest beef with it is that the Bokeh can be... I dunno, nervous? I think some people might call it that. I "Think" the Bokeh looks that way because the lens is so darn sharp that even the Bokeh is sharp, when people prefer it to be more buttery.
My Tak 35 /2.0 is a beast which I have used a fair bit on the K-1, and renders absolutely gorgeous buttery Bokeh with all sorts of fun bubble Bokeh when wide open with dappled back lighting, though not as bitingly sharp as the M 35/2.8, it is plenty sharp stopped down a click.
I have the Tak 28 3.5, and haven't really used it much since the film days on my Spot F... I need to get it out and play with it some on the K-1.
Very nice work y'all.
