Some more of the Auto-Tak 35mm f2.3, this time with the k-01 though since I forgot to charge the KP

I need to experiment with a flash I think. I'd also love to try some portraits with this lens.

I forgot to warm up the lens when I went out to shoot the sunset.... but liked the fog-effect...

You know speaking of Tak fisheyes, have you ever played with the 18 f11? Unfortunately not too many people post sets with it but it's one of the more fascinating fisheyes I've seen. Looks reasonably sharp in the center but ethereal in the corners, giving quite an amazing effect, almost like peripheral vision.

That's a Tak I'd love to try sometime. I think it's actually wider than the 17mm because of a more circular projection, and the few shots I've seen with it give a beautifully dreamlike effect. Probably not one for defishing though.

Love it. Did you pull focus to keep up with the dog as it approached? Or did you pre-focus and time it by eye for when the dog hit focus? Or maybe you used the camera's automatic catch-in-focus option?

By the way, if anyone has managed to get auto catch-in-focus working with their Taks, please let me know how. It never works with mine, presumably because there's no bare metal shorting the right contacts on the camera.

Thanks, Dave! At the dog park, I've always set the lens to a good distance depending on the dog's size (usually 2-3m for a normal lens), and use burst mode when they're about to cross the focal plane. I never had much success with catch-in-focus, since it's hard to tell exactly where in the frame the dog will be when their face hits the focal plane.

I've actually been using a Sony for the past few years, which I don't think has that feature anyway. I never bought any Sony lenses, though. I love my old Pentax primes too much.

Here's another from a while ago, with the SMC Tak 135/2.5:

Not a criticism, just a question: Is the falloff in the corners in the shot with the 85 from the lens, or did you do that in post?
