Yes. I usually stop reading right there. If there are sample photos, I'll lok at them; that's useful. But a review "right out of the box" isn't that helpful. Commendable enthusiasm, but marginal utility.

@ scratchpaddy. Great light! It's years since we've been on the same thread - good to see you back. I took this photo of one of your friends yesterday with a S-M-C Takumar 55/1.8. I was supposed to be going to a cricket match at Lord's London, but it was rained off, and so I went outside to snap this duck in the wet (a duck is also a cricket expression for getting out without scoring).

Lords is going well today. England scoring as they should in the most desirable manner: 2/43 last I saw.

Good to see you again, Utak! I was away from the forum completely for a few years. It's good to see many of the old faces (or avatars ) still around.

Considering your avatar, I hope you post some more in this thread soon. Oh, and the Soviet thread really needs some attention.

Another from the SMC 55/1.8, in downtown Tempe. I think it was some of your posts years ago that convinced me to buy one.

Shot taken with my auto-tak 35 f2.3 with Elite Chrome, one shot converted to monochrome. Excuse the shoddy removal of foliage at the bottom, spot removal was doing an even worse job than paint, I need to download gimp at some point.

Another shot with the tak 35 and Elite Chrome, uneditied by me. I think this lens really excels on film as a general wide angle. I just clearly need a hood.

By the way I took a roll of E100 with me to washington, all shots taken with my tak 50 1.4 8 element so expect those at some point in the next few weeks.

The Spotmatic and Taks are still powerhouses over 50 years later, pretty incredible huh?
I used to be pretty slow with the setup but I've gotten almost as fast as with my KP, mainly thanks to that incredibly big and bright viewfinder, makes focusing so simple.
