Huh, Taks do not have mega super quick linear DC servo stepper motor assisted AF? Why did I miss that?
Actually, I never miss the MSQLDCSSMA AF myself. For most fun, closest to the first Takumar lens I ever owned, the 55mm f/2.2 preset on the original Pentax I picked up in a pawn shop in 1961, I use my SMC Takumar 55/1.8.

Thank you. My father has been laid off by his company after working at the airport for 29 years.
When I heard this was about to happen, I sought permission to shoot there for an afternoon. I bought myself some Kodak Portra and had him pose for a bit :-).
I'm really happy to have been able to make some images, of what has been such a big part of his identity to me.

Pentax ES, Ilford FP4, and one of my SMC Taks... I'm guessing the 50/1.4.

Indeed, a very nice series. I like the way you captured what seems to me a mixture of pride in the job and sorrow in no longer doing that job. The images tell a story.

Nice, elderberries! Reminds me that we need to make jam again. The bokeh is very nice on that one, especially in the part just below the berries.

Thank you! The old 35mm f/2 Takumar is very nice for such things.

Love this pic, this is a sleeper lens, mine is a bokeh monster and I love the silky smooth manual focus. Reminds me I need to shoot it more.

Thank you! I must say that I like it (the 1st version Super-Takumar 35mm f/2) better cropped than on full frame. It vignettes a lot and the corners are not really convincing even at f/8. But in the center it is good and you can get remarkable bokeh. All of these seem to be characteristics it shares with the f/2.3 Takumar that has even more bokeh "character" (based on what I see, I shot it only once for a few minutes).

Very nice and not too moody despite the subject and the B&W. I like the contrast and granularity.
