You'd have trouble in central Illinois, where we can sometimes get 10 to 20 degrees below ZERO F. in some winters.

After moving to Sparwood, BC, in the Rocky Mountains in November 1981, I discovered that one needs a block heater here. January 1982 saw 8 days where the temperature was -40. (ºC and ºF are the same at that temperature).

At Heckwood Tor with the 55mm/2.0 Super. It's the first time I've used it for a while and there's some play in the focusing ring that's never been there before, so I guess it's time for some maintenance. Luckily I've got another 55mm/2.0, the one with the reversed aperture ring, to keep me going in the meantime.

Here's a shot I took yesterday evening when the sun set over Groningen and lit up the Tasman Toren in a nice golden colour. Taken with the super Takumar 28/3.5

Multi-shot stitch at Rundlestone with the 28mm/3.5. The "house" is actually the old water pumphouse for Dartmoor Prison.

Question for the faithful: Other than to complete the collection, If I already have a Super Takumar 50/1.4 and an SMC-K 55/1.8, is there a pressing reason to search out a Super Takumar or SMC Takumar 55?
