Great shots of the pterodactyls- I mean, herons! I love the one with the cat. Even my dogs are wary of those monsters when we see them on the canals here.

the cat chased it onto the roof and then keep trying. Those things scare me. I was tubing and the current took me within 5 feet of one that didn't move. I saw that thing spearing my brains while my butt was stuck in the tube and I helplessly tried to paddle away.

K1 + S-M-C Takumar 50/1.4.

I work in non-essential manufacturing and as we've been shut up at home, I decided to try and make/post a YouTube video about some of my lenses as an experiment. I actually ended up posting four videos on "Best bokeh lenses" for M42 lenses. For your potential amusement, I'd like to share this one - it covers 55mm to 58mm lenses, and includes 7 Takumars up against some pretty good "competitors".

I used one of several 55/1.8 Super-Multi-Coated Takumars in my collection on my K-r to photograph another classic Takumar.
The Auto-Takumar 55/1.8 'Zebra' was introduced with the Asahi Pentax K in 1958. Both the K and the 55 should date to late 1958 or early 1959 based on the serial numbers. I waited nearly two months for this fairly clean copy of this hard to find lens to arrive from Japan due to COVID19 shipping issues.

My first Pentax, purchased in a pawn shop in 1961, was the previous model to that one with the 1,2,5,10,25 ... shutter speeds. I didn't have much money when the unobtainable shutter curtains pinholed, so I traded to a camera shop whose owner was a collector, together with a some $$$, for a KX with K 55/1.8.

Was the purple a deliberate choice? I believe that is very close to the owners manual color. It is for the asahi pentax s anyway. It is a very apropriate choice!

Here is the "instruction guide" from the 1958 Asahi Pentax S

Here is a photo taken with the Takumar 55 2.2, A lens from dfferent times.

I was looking for a vintage looking backdrop and saw the purple blouse hanging in my wife’s “I don’t wear this, but don’t donate it to the Salvation Army yet” closet.

The purple of that instruction guide is so cool! Thanks for sharing.

The guide I have for the K is green. Wonder if they came in different colours for the same camera? Anyway, a short and succinct manual. I liked your composition, so I tried to copy it...(with a S-M-C Takumar 28/3.5)

And a recent snap (with processing) taken by that Auto-Takumar 55/1.8 zebra....
