Here is the Super Tak 200 f/4. This squirrel wouldn't focus well with the 55-300 plm. Manual with the long focus throw could do it.

I have discovered a bug or a feature. If I paste a photo from flickr here with the bbcode then replace the photo on the flickr site. You still see the first photo here. The cool thing is I was able to post the CA of my 135 lens in the photo of the fairy house a few posts ago. If you click on it, it will take you to the flickr page with the ca cleaned up. It is a way to show sooc and pp. Can anyone confirm this? If you see the ca on my photo of the fairy house and click it should show the same pic after cs was cleaned up. In the got squirrel shots thread I have a different picture of this squirrel that when clicked will show this photo.

I thought f/4.8 was the half step but my ks-2 set to half steps goes 4, 4.5 5.6 instead of 4, 4.8, 5.6. It does the proper 4, 4.5, 5, 5.6 when set to third steps.

Interesting.

Extraordinary capture of a rare animal! I've never seen an albino squirrel before.

The bug is caused by your browser's cache. It stores images from pages you visit on your computer, so it doesn't have to load them over and over again when you re-visit pages. When you replace images, Flickr keeps the same URL so it still loads from any links you posted. Your browser doesn't know it's changed, and shows you the old, cached image.

I don't know what browser you use, but if you look up how to clear the cache on it, you should then see the new image everywhere.

Yeah, it is huh.

I'm just mapping something for myself in terms of flash power, and you can often choose to have increments of a 1/3 stop power or 1/2. With the FA Ltds the aperture in the camera body seems to correlate with 1/3 stops, whereas the aperture ring seems to give half stops O.o

But yeah, I looked at my Tak 50 and noticed it gives half stops between its marked apertures and I just wanted to know what these were.

But of course, f4.5 or f4.8, that has to be pretty close and hard to really tell a difference?

Early summer storm brewing at the marina. SMC Takumar 55mm f/2. Plenty of light so I stopped down to around f/8 to get depth of field and maximum sharpness. Here is the lightly cropped and processed picture:

And here is a heavy crop of the radar unit half-way up the mast on the boat in the middle of the picture. The Garmin logo is clearly readable. Almost shocking the resolution available from these 50 year old lenses.
