A small little spring running in my back yard. I was trying to get the Mike Cash look, but even with my smallest aperture, I could only get 1 second shutter. I think I need some filters to do Mike's kind of magic.

Super Tak 55mm f1.8, Wide Open

I didn't even know you could shoot anything other than M with non-AF lenses!

One of the few first shots I tried with my first Tak on a friend's kid visiting a week or so ago. The boy's curiosity under a combination of fluorescent and tungsten lights helped, with the rather slow shutter speed at ISO 100.

I got my M42 a little over a week ago and since then, this lens has yet to come off my K10d... loving it!

Don't give me so much credit; it isn't like I invented that effect.

Just get something like an ND8 (three stops light reduction) to fit your largest lens, and step-up rings to adapt it to your smaller diameter lenses. That 1 second will become 8 seconds.

Ya, I know you didn't invent it, but you do take some nice shots using the technique, that's for sure.

Handheld macro of the guy on the 1000 yen note. Taken to kill a few minutes at work yesterday, and to commemorate my wife letting me have paper money for a change.

Hey, I remember folding money... glad you got to look at some. Your pic reminds me of this shot, hovering handheld, of a James Stewart stamp, 50/1.4 + the full set of extension tubes.

200mm Takumar. First glance, the shot is nothing special, but look closely in the center of the picture. Talk about timing. (large fish jumping)

Taken with my new Tak 100/4 Macro 1:2. This lens is awesome, i only had 1/2 an hour to practice with it today but fell in love straight away, i like it a lot better than my EF 100mm macro which im going to sell.

F4.

Cheers

Couple from today. First is Takumar 200mm with 2x converter, cropped at least 100% Stupid bird wouldn't get closer to me.

Second one is my 100mm F4 1:2 macro with extension tubes. Talk about shallow DOF.

1.

You're supposed to sprinkle salt on their tails. Then you can catch them.

Macro tubes are the perfect accessory to pack along for those "I'm stuck here and there's nothing to take photos of" situations. I had to kill about three hours while a couple of guys unloaded my truck. Nothing around I really cared to shoot, but the flowers had just received some rain and the overcast skies provided a nice diffuse light source. Personally, I couldn't much less give a damn about pictures of flowers, but I did appreciate the chance to kill a little time.

Handheld, with a monopod and a fence for bracing.
