That's part of how you do it. The other part is the 30 year old flash unit picked up for $10 from an auction. That was on a monopod and I moved it around to various places while shooting. Focus was by Live View, shutter was on 12 second delay.

Oh ESELITE. Touche.

Why did you post that pic?

It reminds me when I was young and the ladies looked at me in the same way than the lady in the pic do.

Anyway, Thanks. Rino.

Youse guys are playing havoc with my pocketbook. I seem to have a hankering for SMC/S-M-C Taks lately. I just got a 50 f/1.4 and 28 f/3.5. I'll post some images when I get them in my hot little hands.
i'm waiting....

Welcome to the forum and the thread.
Indeed! After reviewing dozens of bad pet photos for PPG, yours is a refreshing change!

Although I posted these elsewhere too, I thought they should be here too....
Made with the Super-Multi-Coated Macro-Takumar 50/4, the second one with additional extension tubes.

Thanks Steve! I love seeing cats in their natural environments and guarding/sharing their territory. A few dedicated caretakers feed them everyday relentlessly. I managed to talk to them and learn more about the cats. Thanks to them, the cats are living healthily around the neighbourhood. They actually brought quite a few for neutering but new cats keep popping out every now and then.

The grape and cherry tomato sure look juicy!

LensScribe - that's superbly seen and photographed!

elle.e - you certainly know how to use two of the best Takumars! The tomato and grape is fresh, fresh, fresh, clean, clean, clean, and a real "JOY" (were you spelling that out, by the way?)... Much appreciation and kudos!

Nesster - Thank you for your kind words.

elle.e - that grape and tomato shot is, well, picture perfect.

Here's another shot of Cape Town, this time from the 8th floor of The Gardens Centre:
