The lowly 28-300

Yes I'm the one who actually bought this telephoto from Tamron.
It's not too shabby if you know it's limitations.
Couple of panoramas;

Hi, you are about the first person to post that they have this lens. I also have it and having never seen anyone else (til you) who had it, I wondered if I had a real "lemon". Your comment "It's not too shabby if you know it's limitations" makes me ask - What is it that you consider limitations? Now, my experience is that it is not the greatest lens out there, and cost a lot more than Tamron 70-300mm.

I've felt like it's ok for the mid range, but above about 150 it is not very sharp. Does that match your experience?

28-75

It is my walkaround friend during trip. Light, easy to use, very sharp.

Just got the PK adapter

Hello all,

Finally joined the Tammy club, because my adapter arrived coupla hours ago, attached to my SP BBAR MC 90mm f/2.5 macro with big hopes, attaching my first result below, before that I have questions.

1- My green button is set to Tv shift, when I turn on the camera and set the focal lenght finder shows the time value and "F - -" sign, is that normal?

2- My other question is I can't maintain consistently correct EV's I have to shoot trials to get correct exposure. on different f stops, or preshoot to see histogram, is there any trick to get around this to be able to get fast light metering when chasing bugs?

3- My last question when I press the green button aperture stops-down, so that means I've attached the adapter/lens combo correctly, ring moves up to f/32 so that means on the automatic (A) position, but lens stays wide open whereever I move the diaghpram, only when I shoot aperture closes-down, is there a way to keep lens on stop-down mode all the time? Because green button closes the aperture in a fraction of second, I can't check the DOF with such a short time

Thanks in advance for the replies.

Can.

Here is the pic taken with the flash 1/180, I can't remember the f value....

This one is 28-80mm SP 27A CF Macro, What a difference in sharpness, also in colors, 90mm macro is down to drain.

1/180 f/4

If the camera has no way of determining the aperture by communicating with the lens, then that is normal. (I'm not familiar with the adapters, so can't answer specifically).

Use the DOF preview option on the power switch.
