That 28mm adaptall sure looks nice, especially the first and last shots suit my eyes to a tee. And Mechan1c, you'll make me regret asking for the DA70Ltd instead of the Tammy 90/2.8 DI for my 50th birthday last year. As it is I miss the close focus... and shoot with my 90/2.8 adaptall, focusing manually:

This to show the excellent focus of the Adaptall SP 35-80: I focused on the molecules right in front of the berries.

Purple Fringing

Speaking of PF, my 70-300 LD Di arrived today, and in the first shots, PF was so obvious, I wanted to share with you. I am attaching the small picture with marking PF obvious areas, the original file is at:

Just got my Tammy 28-75 today...so far impressions are good =)

Did a sorta-architecture model shot (not my model) Even at 400 ISO it's still mindboggling sharp. Can't believe this is not a prime

Did what I bought this lens for, low light shots. ISO 1600. Performed admirably although it does not create the magic that makes photography (light). For some reason I expected a 2.8 aperture lens to replace a flashgun time for the K20d? :b

And some horror shots

On those last two... I like the look, and It may have been the look you were going for, so I am hesitant to say much but... you were using center weighted metering, If you had used spot meter on the faces the the camera woud have exposed for the face and blown out the white light in the back. could work either way.

but as I said, I do like this look and I love my 28-75 for these tight face shots...

Thanks gus! I find little use for spot metering most of the time, but maybe I just haven't tried it out enough =) It's hard to change something that's buried in the menu too

I have a question to other owners of the 28-75. Does anyone else's copy "triple checks" the focus? My copy sometimes uses one extra step to focus compared to my other pentax lenses (18-55, 50-200, 10-17), especially when moving focus from a farther distance. When the change of distance to object is small it seems to be fine (possibly even faster than the three other lens). Can this be because of the extremely short focus throw or do I get a slightly bad copy? Sharpness and back/front focusing is mighty fine though so I'll probably try to live with it.

Or maybe there's some tips on focusing that I don't know yet? I tried focusing on people's eyes in low light today and it seems to triple check many times.

PS. And another comlaint is that I can't eem to clean this lens easily with a lenspen.... The cloth works well though.
*Edit* I take back my words... i don't know what I did wrong yesterday but today my lenspen works its magic again

It can sometimes hunt a bit in lower lighting

If it is really low light I even just MF sometimes rather than hear it clunk around.

I took this shot at a new years eve party with the tammy on my K100d at ISO 1600... you can see her eye lash on the far eye... I think I MF this one....
