First real "performance" outing with this lens. Both are at f2.8, 125 @800. The duo shot is full frame, the other cropped and straightened. Are these too muted? I'm just starting to work with RAW files.
Both are very nice. but the non-cropped shot really shows the excellent performance of the 17-50 wide open. We would love to see more of the low light performance when you can---tx. btw, Colors look nice!

Here's one from another venue, typical evening cafe lighting. This is from a jpeg with just a little adjustment.

That is nice wide-open performance. I'm going to have to start saving for a decent AF lens. The 17-50 seems to have great image quality and versatility.

Any one here with a 70-210 19AH who has made any tests to compare it to more recent AF lenses? Ie, 19Ah Vs DA50-200 or Sigma/Tamron 70-300?

Sorry I couldn't read all the 78 pages here to check if the question was already discussed. I'm considering buying a 19AH based on several positive feedback, but I've been disappointed a bit by my previous Vivitar Series 1 A70-270 2.8-4...

Schweet! This makes me wish we had hardwood trees (or trees period) less than a days drive away.

shaky Jake rides again

It's 11° F outside and I was trying to hand hold these shots. Should have dug the tripod out of the back of the car.

Frost on the Mini to greet the new year, taken w/Tammy 17-50.

After seeing Javier's excellent street shooting I decided it was about time I did some more - so these were shot on the Lvjiazui 'Boardwalk' in Shanghai on New Year's Day :

Visitors to Shanghai from the countryside. Actually their son was taking their photo - the smiles are their reaction to me !

Checking his shot.

One of the tourist set-scenes - they have a whole rack of clothes to choose from !

Rose selling girls press their luck.

Want a close up view, across the river, of The Bund ?

They were all set up for one of their friends to take their photo and all - but one - were highly amused when I lined up a shot from behind her !

Posing for her father - we compared shots afterwards.

More to come tomorrow !

Try getting these shots. without a tri-pod, after Happy Hour someday No, I don't see how the tri-pod could have improved upon these--these are excellent. They have a genuine macro feel to them--I guess I need to start shooting my 17-50 @ close focus.

Beautiful shots: colors, contrasts & sharpness, all A1--. I love the first shot!

Where in the world is Javier? I thought we had him back as a regular guest poster.

I think he is using only primes now, though he still has a 28-300.

Only one "R" in his name :-)
