Finally got another Tammy: 28-200 LD IF f3.8-5.6 for $50. This will probably become my walkaround lens. I wish I could afford a good one like the latest 17-50 or 90mm, but I am poor. I took it out yesterday and here are a couple shots:

Really like the 1st one--others are both nice too, but the horizon looks a bit tilted to the right in the last one.

You're right. I should have fixed that.

Edit: I fixed it, though the old version may remain cached for a while.

Ash, these are very nice. What I find particularly nice about them is that close focus is suppose to be the weakness of this lens, at least from what I've read. Would you care to comment on this criticism of the 70-200? I hope so, because I'm on the verge of a new purchase, and this lens is in the running for my money.

edit: In case my post isn't clear, I mean that it is hard for me to believe the CF is an issue for this lens by looking at these great shots. I am wondering if you feel the CF leaves anything to be desired, or if this criticism is invalid. I have never shot the lens--this is only what I've read--your opinion is valuable to me, since you know & shoot with the lens.

Nice ones rustynail! I used to have a Husky that looked almost identical to yours, same ice blue eyes and markings!

Edit, found a photo of her in her last days (taken in 2005 with P&S)-

Tamron 23a

Covering the 60-300mm range very nicely: Hanheld--ISO 200--probably f8--1/100th--focal length somewhere between 200 & 300mm

Both dogs are beautiful! Thanks guys. I love dogs, beyond words, and find Huskies to one of the more beautiful, majestic of all breeds. They share a certain affinity with wolves, which is much more obvious than we see in other breeds.

A couple of 70-300 100% crops

Both hand held (back when I had steady hands) and both shot at 300mm.
