Some more Tammy (17-50) night shots. This lens is so sharp it makes justifying buying new lenses, such as the DA15mm I am pondering, quite difficult!

Very nice series, the third shot is especially striking.

some suburb image quality out of that 70-200 (and 17-50 above that)
I love the Bokeh from the 70-200.

Here are some photos from my most recent trip to Tucson, Arizona. Courtesy of my K-5 and 17-50.
There are still many many more images (a lot of them HDR) that I have to edit still....such a time consuming process. It's all the Layer Masking that eats up the time....and doing it all with a mouse, not a Tablet.

Pima Air and Space Museum.

HDR....mainly just testing some new processing techniques detailed in The HDR Cookbook – Introduction HDR Cookbook – by farbspiel

This is one of the engines of The fastest plane ever built - The SR-71
They had it on the ground for display purposes.... I just set up my Tripod and did a 30 second exposure @ f/11 and ISO 80. It kinda surprised me how much color I was able to pullout of this image.

4 shot panorama of a B-52....you can step under the plane and have a peek inside. (where the front landing gears are). The middle image randomly turned bright green, and even resetting all the adjustments in LR didn't do anything....the file must have been corrupt somehow. It still looked good in B&W, though.

The lowly 18-200mm

Wanted a bit more zoom then the kit so I figured how can I lose for a mere 240 bucks?

The Last three are tripod shots at 18mm, 200mm (both FF) and a crop off the 200mm shot.

The rest are are just quick hand held available light shots under a variety of situations. Not much PP other than running them through ACR.

The manual focus seems a bit rough and the lens mount doesn't snap into the camera body as smoothly as the Pentax or Sigmas but otherwise OK.

It has a metal mount and says it's made in China.

Anyway judge for yourself...

Just bought the 24-135 off Ebay for $200. I've been wanting this lens for quite some time. Still one left if anyone wants one!

Got my 24-135 tonight, and it is fabulous. Focusing seems spot on, even in fairly low light. Very sharp, even wide open. I have to work tonight, but later in the week, as soon as I have some worthwhile photos to post, I will!

I posted some of these in another thread recently. The images were made with the 17-50/2.8 on a K-5 at Short Sands Beach, Oswald West State Park, OR. This was my first outing with the Tamron zoom. I'm very pleased with what this lens can do and may end up using it in place of my primes, under 50mm, anyway. Besides the curvature of focus field at 17mm, I see no serious optical weakness compared to primes.

Sp 24-135

This isn't a great photo, but I think it's okay to show that the 24-135 is a fine zoom lens. The second image is a 100% crop. The sharpness is not what I would expect from a Pentax prime, but it's definitely good for a zoom.

Hi Mike & congratulations on getting this fine lens. I shot it on my K20d, and I still shoot a copy on my D700. The lens is definitely optimized for sharpness at the wide end of the zoom, but is plenty good at the longest end too.

I am not convinced this shot is focused @ infinity. This is a fine lens, and should be sharper than what you present here. The low light of the scene makes it a little more difficult to discern focus.

Is it possible for you to post some more shots? I got amazingly sharp photos with this lens on crop sensor, particularly @ 24mm.

If I switch to manual focus, at maximum focus distance, it focuses beyond infinity. I'll do some more experimenting, but I might just not have the best copy. Do you have a 100% crop for comparison?

For testing purposes, here is a 100% crop at 24mm, f/3.5 in sunlight. Look at the tiny thorns and leaf veins (I focused on the stem below the flower). It looks pretty sharp to me.
