I watched that auction with interest.
Ya know the difference between being an interested observer and an involved player, don' cha? 'S kind'a like the difference between a chicken an' a pig contemplating a bacon an' egg breakfast menu.

Glad ya weren't bidding and I'm surprised it went that low.

Evening light through the leaves. Shot this evening before sunset. I thought the light hitting the leaves looked pretty good.

Tammy 18-250 again.

And a crop of another shot of the same tree.

I've been loooking at the second pic since I posted it. It accurately reflects the scene as it existed when I shot it. But… it's kinda flat. Lacks pop. So I reprocessed it. Granted, I'm a Velvia kinda guy, but I like this one better.

HiHi!

Just recieved my Tammy 90mm macro 52b yesterday.

Have been going to town on it. Must say I've been super impressed. Took some shots this evening and while some of the flowers looked a bit meh in the viewfinder, when I came home to check them out on Photoshop I was totally surprised!

Here is one that has been cropped:

The focus is slightly off, but it just means I'm noticing how much detail is on that leaf!! Amazing!

Here's another. I didn't really expect for the inner bits to show up at all. Obvs my technique needs a bit of work, but these pictures are showing me distinctly that it's better than me! And I'm ok with that...

I'm also loving that creamy bokeh!

I know the difference: At the first, my wife rolls her eyes. At the second, she brings the pain. (And rightly so, I might add.)

Mike that is stunning! The lipstick & matching color subtley placed above her eyes, especially with that tendril on her right side really make this shot scream!!! Just a perfect capture on your part.

Here is my old 17-50, but put to much different use. f/16--tri-pod--17mm--teeny crop

Jewelltrail - Where is that place? It is a really interesting view.

K-5
17-50
f/11
ISO 80
1/20th

This is one exposure...I was able to pull a ridiculous amount of detail out of the bottom part of the frame (it was pretty much black).

Same tree as a previous post....

damn...that's a tiny elephant...

Amazing colours in that shot. My Tamron 17-50 has been sitting idle since I got the DA 35 ltd & FA 50 1.7 in the summer. I might try to find some use for it soon.

BRR: That is North Elba, NY, the site of the 1980 Winter Olympics, where the "Miracle on Ice" happened--more popularly known as Lake Placid, NY--also known as Home of the High Peaks, though they are several degrees East (to the left). The vantage point is from the northwest ridge of Mt Whiteface--the hikers side. The other side of the mountain is a skiers paradise, site of the Olympic downhill races and many other events.

If you like this view, make sure you get out there someday because there are a plethora of amazing views in & around Lake Placid. I usually get there twice a year for outdoor adventure. Two big thumbs up!
