You pics are just plain phenomenal! I hate to follow your masterpieces with my very simple shot.... but oh well.

Cheers Sage97, I am only just getting to the point where I can consistently produce a couple of shots per outing that I am happy with. Almost 16,000 shots on the odometer most of which are duds that I have used as learning mistakes (Add to that countless hours reading books & viewing others work to improve) It's been a long and slow process!

I think your learning quite fast from when you first started posting on the forums. Now if only I could learn at that rate !

Another one with the 90 Di, I find I have to add like 10x the saturation in LR with shots from this lens compared with the limiteds, maybe the hood would help, but the glass is already so deep

I haven't had it very long but now you mention it, compared with the sigma EX 105mm it does lack a bit of saturation ( I always use the lens hood on both lenses) But the 90 Di is a lot more user friendly in use compared with the sigma EX 105mm. I actually have to do a side by side comparison of the two in the coming weeks as I don't need both. I will fill you in on my thoughts when I have done it.

Yesterday with the 17-50:

(the dog was sitting in the back of a pickup that hauled one of the balloon trailers to the rodeo grounds, just seemed like the crowds and noise didn't bother him)

Af 28-75/2.8

The AF 28-75's always a pleasure to use (but wouldn't it be nice if it was 18 or 21 or even 24-75?) and pairing it with a 26mm "de-glazed" PK/A TC shell makes it even more versatile.

Trouble's comin' at the Juice Bar & Grill

Followed by the SP 180/2.5 with that same extension to finish the story.

captainbert & pacerr - great stuff!

pacerr - interesting about the TC. Is it one of those Vivitars? I have one but it still has the glass. The 2x is nice for some macro work but I have never tried it with a zoom.

I caught some great light for a few minutes by our local river yesterday morning.

No, this one was a Quantaray branded 2X AF I picked up cheap enough to not feel bad about "gutting" for use as a dedicated extension for an AF SP 28-75 and DA 55-300. It often makes it out for play-time on the Adaptall SP 90/180/300 primes too.

I do have the PK/A Vivitar 2X Macro TC as well but rarely use it as I don't need the busy hassle of so many magnification options -- too much like a bellows in practice. Works well for casual macro with the old SMC 50's though. I really ought'a sell it.

End of Sept - first of Oct in the Front Range -- you're makin' me homesick for some color here, Matt.

Thanks captainbert!

Today I shot a trail run race and a mountain bike race. The same guy, my neighbor, won them both!
