Alright, lets do this! Over the next few days (unless I shoot something else I really, really like) I'm going to try and post my 'vacation photos'. Gonna start from the beginning..

Right when we arrived at the hotel I knew it'd be a good trip. When I look over the balcony opposite my door this was my view. It was hard getting the perspective just right, but I like how it turned out.

The view across the balcony:

There was a huge, old abandoned hotel next to our that was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. I've never really explored abandoned sites, so I was pretty nervous walking over there but it turned out ok. I never ventured inside the hotel (it was too dark for my tastes) but there were some cool shots on the outside.

Obviously having way too much fun with my new tripod:

The next morning we took a trip over to the French Quarter and wandered into this really old and rundown cemetery. At first I felt awkward shooting in a cemetery, but seeing all the other tourists happily snapping away I gave in. I'm glad I did.

Stay tuned sometime tomorrow for more!

Hi All,

Just processed this one taken almost four years ago in Otaru, Japan. Shot with K-x and Tamron 28-75mm F2.8. I have sold both since.

Here's the 17-50 at 50mm and my first attempt at shooting the moon.. it was surprisingly difficult to get the exposure right and had to stick with manual. You don't really think about how bright the moon is, but it was VERY easy to accidently blow the highlights on the Moon. So here ya go:

Yes, it;s hard isn't it? So good job! It's easiest when the moon is closest to the horizon,

Oh, definitely. I had it planned out with my lunar calendar and I'd been scouting location for days beforehand! Paid off, I think!

New Tammy Club member! I know it's just the lowly 70-300 LD DI, but it has a purpose in my setup... kids sports!

It might do well as as walkaround/close focus lens, though I think the A 70-210 will still be my lens of choice for that kind of thing.

Not too many flowers around here yet! But here's a test I did with it... from my playing around with it, it seems sharp, even if it doesn't have Pentax colors and rendering...

Just a quick test today of Tammy 135/2.5. I was surprised because if it wasn't for CA wide open, this lens is fully comparable to SMC K 135/2.5 with an even shorter MFD! (1,2m instead of 1.5m)

No edits, wide open at minimum MFD

Slightly further.

I am surprised as this is said to be a rather mediocre lens, yet it easily rivals my favourite and highly spoken of 135. Very strange

Matt, both pictures are great, but that first one's just a work of art I'd send a link to the artist, he might want to use it!
