Tamron 18-200mm LD (IF) Macro.

I've got a new-to-me Tamron lens coming soon! It's an 18-200mm LD (IF) Macro. Any of you have this lens? If so, any comments or opinions?

I won't put too much faith in the reviews as they sell the Tamron 28-200mm quite short of the qualities MINE displays!

I also have a Tamron 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 XR DiII and I've found it to be a versatile lens on both my K100D and K500.
If you go back through this thread you will find examples of photos I took with the lens on both camera bodies

Thank you, sir. Your photos of the fall foliage back in November are stunning! I can only hope my lens is as good and I get a chance to find such a beautiful subject. Very nice work.

My new zoom arrived some time ago. I wish better weather (not this cloudy and snowy) and time to travel with it! Shot was taken with Tamron AF 17-50mm F2.8 XR Di-II LD.

Pentax K3ii, iso200, 50mm, f/4,0, 1/100s. Flash with softbox reflected from ceiling.

Is this the new stabilised version ? or maybe the stabilised version doesn't exist for Pentax ?

It's the older version. At least for my knowledge there is no stabilized version available for K-mount

As far as I know only Sigma puts image stabilization in their Long Zoom Lenses made for a Pentax.
In my opinion image stabilization in the lens would be overkill with an image stabilization/shake reduction system built into the body of the Pentax Camera. Yes it gives the operator an option as to which system he or she would like to use but it is doubtful if there is any real advantage, it is unlikely that both systems would work together and you end up paying for an expensive function that may or may not work.

Tamron Adaptall 35-70mm F3.5

Still not worked out how best to control flare and contrast, but it's mostly a nice lens. I suspect it'll be quite pleasant on film. I managed to drop it in a stream after this photo was taken (it was no longer on the body!), but it doesn't seem to have suffered.

I recently aquired a Tamron 70-200 2.8 zoom and finally got to put to some use.The butterflies are back at the Meijer Gardens here in town so I went today to try out the Tamron 70-200 2.8. So far I have been very pleased with the results.

All were taken on with the 70-200 on the K3 and also with the AF540FGZII flash.

These were taken with the Tamron 1.4TC, I was pleased with the autofocus since i was inside in poor light.
