That bee is so beautifully rendered it looks like some enamelized fabrication from a master jeweler, doesn't it?

I agree ... that above shot would be something I'd expect from a tamron 90mm at least.

I should have waited to get a tamron 28-75 ... instead of an older Sigma 28-70 ... the Tamron look to be the better lens.

I have Tammy 90 shots to post .... once i upload them.

If you're doing it just for me, my wife would really prefer that you didn't.

Hahahaha ... but you have a 28-75 ... so you don't need a Tamron 90 macro.
I can't upload them tonight ... the shots I have in mind are at home ... I am stuck at work tonight and tomorrow night, unfortunately.

The former is a zoom and cannot do macro at 1:1 at all. Not even 1:2.

No doubt you should post them when u have a chance

You have a reflection of you behind the camera and the flash in the bounce configuration in the eye!

Pentax K20D
Tamron 28-75/2.8
Et Cetera Et Cetera

This estimable lady is in her mid-late 70s. I once knew her age, but being a gentleman have forgotten it. She has diabetes and the resultant complications of that and the aging process in general in her eyes and legs. She has to be helped onto and off of the stage. But let her get on her mark and the music start and you'd never know it, 'cuz she don't show it.

The first time I met her was when I used both hands to help her down from a bus, with someone else supporting her from the rear. Imagine my suprise when she later took the stage. Imagine my awe when I had to help her back on the bus again.

Impressive Mike. I think I'll stop whining about my mildly arthritic knees now.

Hee hee ... I know that ... but I know Mike would LOVE to get the Tamron 90mm ... but I think the minister for war and finances has other ideas ... hee hee.

I find I use my Tamron 90mm more for long portraiture that I do for Macro ... actually I barely have and close 1:2 or 1:1 macro shots with my Tammy 90.

It is good when it comes to chasing my 2yo niece though ... it really does capture her well. I have been posting a number or florals though with the 90mm.

I love my 28-75, but I recently sent it into Tamron Canada for a clean and recalibration.

It came back with no focus corrections (even though the invoice says that the technician did indeed perform a focus calibration), and even worse, one of the front inner elements has a scuff on it!

Needless to say, I had a few colorful words when I discovered the mishap and this lens will have to go back to Tamron for further work

But, I have had good times with it...sample picture below:
