Know what you mean. It's the first lens I've ever done a user review for on Pentax Forums, it's that good.

I'm going to get some dumbbell weights to increase upper body/arm/wrist strength (I'm serious, not kidding) so I can get the most out of this lens.

Why I affectionately call it "The Beast".........and I used to think the DA*300 was a big, heavy lens

It ain't small. It's no shrinking violet, that's for sure.

I'm addicted to 70-200 zooms (for both full frame and crop), got the Sony FE 4/70-200 G OSS too. If Pentax were to introduce an f/4 70-200 I'd be first in the queue. These make so much sense. They're less than half the weight and smaller, the handling is great and the f/4's from Nikon and Canon are, so I'm led to believe by the internet, optically superior to their f/2.8 counterparts. What I've just written about optical superiority could be BS however.

I've had this lens for a while, but have so far only given it a real workout on the K-3.

Purple for Prince

And on the Q7.

Tight crop, hence loss of resolution.

Out of all lenses I've blown a shed load of money on (and that's a disturbing amount), the DF-A* 2.8/70-200 is by far the best, especially considering the compromise between rendering, sharpness and focal range versatility.

I can't say the same about the D-FA 2.8/15-30.
