Here a some morning shots, taken at my hotel in Utrecht.
This wonderful car was sitting there...awesome car if you ask me.
This is the Pentax 70-200mm serie, I took a couple with the 24-70mm as well.

@Sailor - Dedicated to you and your wonderful car shots.

Thanks much for the very kind words and thanks for posting these gorgeous pictures of a Carrera 4S Cabriolet. Porsche should use these in their advertising!

Love these last two shots again Rondec. I need to do some portraits with my 70-200.

One x-posted from K-1 thread here!

Hello!
I' need an advice! Anyone having experience both of these, Pentax and Tamron? I'm just about to buy either of them. It's not possible to rent or loan these lenses around here to test them myself.

HD Pentax-D FA* 70-200mm f/2.8 ED DC AW and
Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 Di LD Macro.

I would appreciate more deep and personal opinion than obvious AW, price and weight. I understand the technical differences. I have read the reviews available and there's not very much good photos to compare taken with Pentax. And there's much more than test charts when it comes preferring the lenses like this.
Tamron has lots of satisfied reports, but Pentax users don't advertise themselves too much.
I believe, Pentax lens has its optical edge. But it's it worth of extra cost and weight?
It's my own decision, but how you have experienced it?

I'm shooting mostly dogs, dog shows in a poor light, nature details and natural light portraits.

Thank you!

My perspective is that the Pentax is sharper wide open and a better auto focuser. At the same time, the Tamron is dirt cheap and if you aren't shooting wide open or need great (silent) tracking auto focus, then the Tamron would be a decent option.

It is really hard to know what value to put on the differences. Tamron is maybe 90 percent as good as the Pentax and stopped down a little, you probably would have a hard time telling them apart.

Thank you! I just ordered Pentax and my wallet cries!
I am shooting a lot wide open. And moving objects. So I suppose, I'd become frustrated with Tammy. And though Tammy is much cheaper, it's a lot money to me to buy something I will regret!

I think you'll be pleased. Having the focus range limiter really can speed auto focus as well.

Good luck and post photos!

I only realised it was a full moon last night 5 minutes after moonrise - but fortunately, I can walk to this view in about another 5 minutes. A little direct sunlight is still catching the buildings, which is a bonus. 70-200 with K-1
