If anyone wants to see a comparison in size between the DA*200 and DFA *70-200, here it is:

I've got mine, had it a couple of weeks, but nothing interesting to shoot. Plus the weather's been dire.

I find it very heavy and quite unwieldy, like any big fast zoom. Best on a tripod.

Anyway, here's some rock armour . . .

I would entitle that "why I will never own a 70-200." The 200 fits my camera bag, it's a little tight, but I can squeeze it in. The 70-200? Not a chance.

This is the correct decision. It truly is a hefty beast.

Well, I think the reasons to get a 70-200 are for faster auto focus, significantly less purple fringing and better edge sharpness wide open. I am fine with the DA *200, but my wife shoots weddings and she found the fringing and slowish auto focus on the DA *200 to be frustrating.

Agree !!

The DA*200 and even it's larger sibling the 300, might be a joy to carry (and less expensive) compared to the DFA*70-200, but the 70-200 has been very impressive in every other way.

Taken with a K-1 from 20ft away - 1600 iso, f5.6 1/250
