I know it's a big unit but I have the 24-70 so I am aware of the heft. Which of course makes me think that the 21mm might be the sane way to go!
And I have to say again, I just loved the photograph of the Marsh gate - a beautiful rendering of light and shadow and all the possibilities of that open gate... Bravo!
Thanks for the kind comment.
I had fully intended to go for the 21 with no interest in the zoom, until the 15-30 fell in my lap. Part of it was the reports of the zoom being heavy to work with.
Well, I have the DFA85 and DFA70-200. The zoom will tell my shoulder when I use it more than a couple of hours. The 85 is not any problem for hours at a shoot. The 15-30 is
far lighter than either of those, so heft is a total non-issue in my case. I hiked with it Saturday for nearly 4 hours on my K1 and with a K3III and Sigma 170-500 on the other side and never took note of the weight. It was fine.
I suppose I've adapted to the new heavier Pentax glass, and gosh it's been well worth it. The news lenses are just so good,
