I've been shooting all my events with this lens and getting acquainted with it.
Last week, I took it in the rain around Hawai'i.

Here are a couple:

Laupahoehoe Beach
K3II & DFA 15-30

and the same spot moments later when the storm started to break up:
Laupahoehoe Sunrise
K3II & DFA 15-30

Nice shots as always, Rondec and Mike!

Mike, was it really dark for that first shot? Or did you use averaging or some filter solution? Care to elaborate?

Love the harvest one, Rondec. I do notice the borders seem disappointing here though. I guess this is the curse of field curvature in this hyper-focal type situation.

I have a new travel tripod arriving today, hoping it will be ideal for taking out on walks, although I am a little worried that I'll miss the height of my full sized one. I am really looking forward to trying some pixel shift with the lens.

I think that's the case. Central sharpness out to infinity, but on the edges, things get shaky past the front edge of the image. The DA 15 limited has a little similar characteristics and I generally just set it to f8 and manually focus it to 3 meters on the distance scale and that works pretty well. I haven't figured this lens quite yet.

I found it rather easy to get this effect on DA 16-50 as well. I have a fair few shots with mushy tree branches on the horizon at the borders. I guess it doesn't matter for most photos but I did have one or two where I was a bit perturbed by it!

Hi John,
That first shot was in near darkness, pre-dawn with heavy clouds and a rain storm in progress. It's a 46 sec exposure. No filter. I pushed the brightness in post, as it would likely have needed 2 minutes to expose "correctly", but I was holding a jacket over the front element trying to keep drops off the glass and wiping between attempts.

Glad this thing is weather sealed

A wee storm blew through Brisbane yesterday, and my plan was to go high and get a side on view of the front coming through but this had to change due to the speed of the storm front. Instead I headed into the city and parked near the river knowing that I should be able to get the approaching storm and city views in with the 15-30. This image was taken after the storm had blown itself out to sea and the setting sun created some stunning cloudscapes and bathed the city in golden light.

In the middle of the storm I was on a bridge trying to stay out of hte wind whilst the storm blew through when this intrepid rider came along.

Finally dealing with a terrible processing backlog. But here is one I've found time to process.

Single shot, Lightroom, with Nik Analog efex 2.

Hopefully a few more soon! Took the 15-30 out today and enjoyed shooting some landscapes.
