It is a very versatile lens, a very strong 'Jack of all trades' type lens. It can do wonderful macro, suffice you can get close enough, it does landscape not too badly and a good job at portrait, or at least couples and groups (where you want f2.8 anyway). Great little lens I agree.

Just where we found it after the racoons had disrupted things overnight. A bit of off-camera flash as the sun hadn't yet made it above the houses across the street.

What I like most about this photo is the clear direct processing. I have no idea how or whether you processed it but so many photos from these parks are so over saturated. Yours is lovely because it is understated. Thanks for doing that.
