Boosting this thread. This lens (the original model) was my first prime lens and whenever it ends up back on my camera I can't remember why I've ever taken it off. The perfect summer walk around lens.

Relics from my birth year: 1939

In retirement, I have been writing articles (and a book - 101 Classic Firearms, available on Amazon) on classic and historical firearms. I recently took this picture of a couple of Smith & Wesson revolvers that were shipped in my birth year, 1939. I habitually use the 35mm lens for its sharpness - it reveals even small details. It took me years to find specimens that were in near perfect condition, given that they have been around, like me, for 81 years!

We have a lot of fungi in the woods behind my house but I never know which ones are delicious and which ones will kill you

Those particular ones would at least cause some serious discomfort...

Firearms art

As a freelance writer/photographer, I get to take interesting product shots. This was taken with the 35mm on a K-3. It's a Smith and Wesson Model 27 (.357 magnum) in its fitted presentation case. The beautiful walnut grips are handcrafted painstakingly.

K3ii set up just off a feeder (f/22, ISO 100, 1/180) and a remote trigger used to fire the camera as birds approached.
Still playing with the Godox Xpro flash trigger, using two remote Godox v860ii flashes near the feeder (manual 1/16 to freeze action)
If I were really clever, I'd have a third flash to illuminate some of the background, but I kind of like the isolated look of this Pine siskin and unnatural dark background.

Columbia Gorge, Oregon. The 35mm macro limited is also great for epic landscapes.
