I've been dipping into the loose change down the back of the sofa as well. and my recent extravagances include....a Pentacon 30mm /3.5 and a 50mm / 1.8. And both came with camera's, a Practika and a Zenith, and some other lenses, teleconvertors etc, so the cost per lens is less than a pint of beer, a bargain in my book.

The 30mm Pentacon is getting more and more use, I love the colours and the centre sharpness, although it falls away badly at the edges.

But when I get pictures like this, I forgive it.

A bit of PP, but nothing drastic.

Hi

I got ME Super M, M-50mm 1,7, Cosina 28mm 2.8, Tokina 80-200mm 4,5, three piece extension tube set, 2x TC and agfa agfatronic 383 cs flash for 55 euros (about 60$). I bought only that 50mm and rest of stuff was extra.

So if we make some calculations 55euros/7 items = 7,85euros per item Not bad.

M-50/1.7 is awesome. 28/2.8 is kinda soft. Tokina is not bad, but not good. 2xTC is some Paragorn or somethin like that. Its not good.

I also got M-40-80/2.8-4 for free with broken MV-1.

Phoenix is just another name for Cosina/Bower/Pro Master/Rokinon/Vivitar.

The lens should be the same as the Cosina 19-35 or Vivitar Series 1 19-35 etc.

I've been prowling eBay for lenses, and picked up a Sears manual 80-200mm macro zoom for $8.50 with about $10 shipping and a Sigma 70-300mm DL Super Macro for $37 including shipping. I managed to break the Sigma already - I can't twist the lens to shorten the focal length any more (I now have to physically puss teh lens together). Other than that it still seem sto work fine otherwise.

Joy of Photography not LBA

That's what you get when you grab a mint K1000 with a Pentax-F 50mm f1.7 for $50

I never thought I would post on this thread but the price hike forced me to look at every place. I got this A3000 body and A50mmF2 for $20. Anyone knows if anyone still wants this body?

Picked up an old Sigma A28-84 MF zoom this summer for $10. Kind of big & clunky, decent IQ, but a bit lacking in contrast. Very prone to flare, so a hood is a must. Mine has a slight yellowish cast, maybe from age. Shot with a K100D, and these have been moderately pp'd.

i think i qualify for this club.

let's see...

Helios 44m-4 as part of a 3 job lot. So broken down by item (lens and camera as an item each), this lens cost me $3.50

With the aperture pin pressed down permanently with a bit of surgery, and a quick dab here and there with isopropyl alcohol to loosen up the focus ring to reach infinity, the lens gives me images like this:

Super creamy bokeh!

and crispy lifelike renditions, even on a k100d

$20 for a M 50 1.4 k mount gives me this:

$12.5 for a dusty Takumar 135 2/5 non SMC version k mount with filigree fungus on the front glass around the edges gives me shots like this:

And at the same sale as the Takumar 135 (it was really both lenses for $25) for an Adaptall 300mm 5.6 (early version) gives me images like this:

Oh, and I should include the Pentax M 35-70 which I got with a k1000 for $2 (so $1 for lens, and $1 for body). Lens has some fungus, the filter is permanently stuck on the front, with a lightened streak across the filter glass, but it still performs (i think) with images like this:

CZJ 50 2.8 - cost me a whopping $15. It's got a dodgy focus ring (gets stuck and if i twist too hard it starts to unscrew from the body) but it still produces nice images.
