Is Soligor Pentax PK 135mm F2.5 good lens?

Local store has one priced around 100$, is it good deal? Here in Finland lenses cost bit more than in bigger countries.
I think it is fully manual? Auto exposure of my K-r does not work?

Here pictures Kameratori.fi — Suomen kattavin k

Or Cosinon 135mm F2.8 Auto MC P/K for 100$?

Chinon m42

Hi friends M42 lens!
I am interested, who gave CHINON 55/1.4 lens and asked me what kind of experience is with him. My experiences were very positive (fantastic colors, bokhe, sharpness ...) and it all combined K10D + "extrinsic" M42 adapter. Now to test it on the K5 and the original power adapter!
So far none of the large amounts of M42 lenses did not show conceived this play!
Please, what type of your experiences?
greeting

I bought a K mount Kiron 28/2 (no A setting)this weekend for $20, it has a Vivitar front lens cap and an ME Super as a rear lens cap. A couple of initial tests show that it may be kind of sharp:

No shots from any of them, since my K-x is down at the moment, but here's a group shot of the Family. With the exception of the K-x and the Powershot, everything was a DCL. I think the FA 28-90 was the most expensive lens at $40, the rest all averaged about a third of that excluding shipping.

Not shown: The old Sears Tower box camera I picked up for about $10. I forgot it was on another shelf so it missed the photo op.

EDIT: Realized my $10 Sears 28mm f/2.8 didn't make it in the shot either. :-D

My father found an SF 10, with the SMC f 35-70 Lens attached, they also had another lens for an additional $6.00. He bought the other lens. Here are a few shots I took with it today mounted on my K10 D.

The "other" lens as a mint condition SMC F 50mm F2.8 macro. for $6.00 !!!! I told him he stole it, haha. It is incredibly sharp. These are all hand held, straight out of the camera jpegs, no post processing at all.

He got the camera and 2 lenses for $36.00 total at Goodwill , and all 3 items are in like new condition.

Auto Sears MC 135 mm f 2.8

I got this lens long time ago in a package deal for a Sears version K1000 camera. The kit cost $75, and also included a bag, filters, and two other lens: Auto Sears 50 mm f 1:2.0 and Kiron 28 mm f 2.8. I reckon the 135 cost me one fifth of the $75 total,so I place my cost of it at $15.00. Attached is a photo of the wishing well in my front, which at this time of year in Northern Ohio, is about as good as it gets in terms of likely photo subject matter! In the past, however, this little lens has gone with me on Tanzanian safari, touring on the Great Wall of China, to the Taj Mahal in Agra, India, and the Royal Palace Museum in Bangkok, as well as many other interesting places in Europe, Asia, and Africa.

This is a good performing manual focus lens, and I get excellent portrait results with it in interior low-light conditions. Image quality is not quite up to the standards of my FA 77 ltd lens, but I do not get the low-light focussing problems I get with the FA 77. In fact, with my K-20 and Katzeye, I do not get any focussing problems at all.

Shot at 1/160 f 5.6 with K-20 and Katzeye focussing screen.

Here's a couple from my $15 Image 28mm/2.8. It's pretty sharp "M-type" (completely manual) lens. I sometimes have to bump up the color & contrast, but for the price, I can't complain. Taken with a K100D.

Kiron 24/2 - Hamburg Waterfront

Hi,

I picked up a mint Kiron MC 24mm f/2 for 20€/$26 a few weeks ago. I took a morning walk along the Elbe in Hamburg to try it out.
As far as I remember, all shots are either f/8 or f/2, I used Fuji Superia 400 and Kodak BW400CN.
The scans are lowres crap, I'm afraid (I was promised 6MP, not 1.5).

My focus wasn't exactly spot on, don't blame it on the lens.

regards
Jan

I picked up this "MC AUTO CPC PHASE 2 CCT" 28mm "MACRO" ƒ2.8 lens for $5 at a local camera store and played with it for a bit over a week, which happened to coincide with a vacation to Baltimore & DC.

(Ignore the aperture info in the metadata, I stuck a piece of foil over the "A" pin so my camera thinks every lens is at minimum an A now. Pretty much everything is either F2.8, F8, or F11)

Closeup of some leaves. I forget if I was testing the "macro" focus or just wanting to see what the bokeh looked like

Closeup of my niece.

Niece reaching for my father-in-law's hand

The Sip & Bite (sometimes called the sit & fight), I think the oldest diner in Baltimore. (got a speck on the sensor of the camera which is really obvious here, but I didn't notice it for a couple of days )

The USS Torsk Submarine (part of the baltimore inner harbor's floating museum)

Crew's Quarters on the USS Constellation (part of the baltimore inner harbor's floating museum)

I forget the name of the statue, but it's a monument to Polish soldiers killed by Germans and Russians in the second World War

These are straight off the camera. There are more, and the post-production versions, here: Not bad for $5 - a set on Flickr

Who made JC Penny lenses?

I just received a JC Penny MC-A, Macro-focusing auto zoom f:3.9, 80-200mm lens I bought from eBay for .99 cents. I wasn't expecting much bang for my less-than-a-buck lens, but all I can say is WOW! This thing is incredibly sharp, the contrast is superb and the color saturation is amazing! I'm jazzed! Who would ever have thought that a "cheapo" lens from Penny's would be this good? Does anyone know who made them? The serial # is 84736157

It has absolutely NO lens creep, the focusing ring is as smooth as a baby's butt and the aperture ring has very nice, positive clicks. And, it's an "A" lens, to boot!

Holy smokes, this is among the top three lenses out of the 37 I own.... and it's the least I've ever paid for one!

The mysterious maker of all off-brand lenses of course!

To be a little more serious, the standard answer is that it is hard to say. If the lens was made in Japan, it may have been Cosina and any of a dozen or so makers of generic lenses that we have never heard of. My general advice regarding off-brand lenses is that "the proof of the pudding is in the eating". Heritage and branding is pretty meaningless.
