Great street shot , hear its been a bit warm on you side for a change , a cold beer is a great seller in hot weather
i got a A35-70 / 4 on the way as well
Warm like Australia in December/January

The A 35-70 is a very good lens, excellent at the 70mm end along with great close focus ability and I simply love 2 touch zooms. My copy is in super shape optically but has too little dampening in the focusing ring. I also have the A 24-50 which I use along with the A 35-105, and between these 2 the 35-70 has gotten squeezed out a little.

K10D + Pentax A 35-70/4.0

New A 28mm

Just got my first A lens for cheap (<$80) off of Ebay and went out this weekend to the Los Angeles Renegade Crafts Fair to test it out with my K-5. Really nice fun lens.

Why is there a picture of the one woman on the other woman's arm? She looks like a Persian princess or something. Or maybe a Gypsy?

The two women are partners with each other and the tattoo on the one is indeed of the other. I'm not sure of any nationalities except they said they're both from Brooklyn. LOL.

A vs M lenses

I've been shopping under the assumption that A lenses were, in most if not all cases, equivalent to M lenses except for the A setting. The lens dimensions, weights, and optical formulas all look the same to me for lenses of similar spec. Is this assumption correct? I've been acquiring some M lenses (no photos to prove it yet, though!), but I wonder if there are some A's that I should be searching for?

Cheers!

They're mostly the same but not all. Have a look at the reviews section.

As are rarer and easier to use and hence command a higher price. Ms are more common but much better built. I find I enjoy fully manual lenses more, but of course that depends on having enough time to focus and get the exposure right, a more relaxing (and fulfilling) type of photography.

The only A that is quite common is the 50mm f/1.7, which is optically the same as the M version, ie superb. However, as all A lenses, it has the advantage of being able to stop down in smaller increments. I find the Pentax 50mm f/1.7 lenses start to perform really well at f/2.2, which you can't reach on the M, but you can on the A and FA.

Keep an eye out for anything. If you find it, check the price is reasonable and buy it. Compare it to other similar lenses you already have, and if you don't like it then as it's already second-hand, you should be able to sell it without making a loss.
