I wish I had every single A prime, too...All I have are the 50 1.7 and 35-70 4. Pretty lame.

Here's one with the 50 1.7 + the trusty K-x.

Nice shot its the Photographer not the lens

You dont need every lens ,i just happen to come across them at the price i was willing to pay , you can pick up all the less rare ones quite easy and not expensive and they do just as good a job.

When I started this i never thought i would get all of them . If i had a limited budget this would be my choice you can do every thing from landscapes to birds

A 20/2.8 A35 / 2.8 A 50 / 1.7 or 1.4 A 100 / 2.8 A 300 /4

Thanks!...Yeah, I know it's not just the lens. Nonetheless, would still be nice to add to the arsenal anyway . My Takumar collection is getting there, but for some reason I hardly come across too many good deals on A's.

I have some Takumars but prefer my A lenses as the can work on A setting , A 's are still cheaper than FA lenses

A little late in replying (Sorry about that. ) but, thank you Driline. I really liked your HO scale crane shot in the DA* Club thread. Until I read the description, I thought it was an actual crane. Nice detail.

On the topic of which A lenses to buy if you are poor, the easy answer is get the zooms. With the A24-50 F4, A35-105 F3.5 and A70-210 F4 you have three very good lenses that cover a huge range and all were from Ebay sub $150 each for perfect copies (24-50 was closer to $200 I think actually). The 24-50 I find to be most useful with my K20D due to the dinky sensor but the A35-105 F3.5 is versatile enough to be the only lens I would ever need for 35mm film or sensor size. I think people either don't know about or forget about the macro shift abilities of that lens, though the 70-210 F4 also has a macro function but only at 70mm. The 70-210 is more useful I find on a 35mm also because 70 is a bit narrow for a bottom end otherwise but perfect range for film. There are a few other OK zooms but they would be useless if you had these three.
The one thing on DSLR you lose going from primes to zooms is accurate shake reduction (since you have to set it ahead of time with an MF lens of course), however I hate the crop sensor enough that I mostly only shoot film now so it doesn't really effect me. I just leave it turned off rather than set to a compromise setting on the K20D.
I actually only have the 50mm F1.4 prime because it was the kit lens on a Super Program. I would love other primes but they are just too expensive for what they do since I rarely need the speed and the quality is actually quite hard to see over the good zooms with everything factored in. I do need an A* 300 F4 still since I need that 300mm reach (my off brand zoom sucks) and none of the A zooms go that high. And I would love the 15 since I love super wide.
I assume that person talking about primes meant that they had all they needed to complete their collection and not every A prime as several of the tasco telescope primes and the super fast versions of the upper mid range ones cost as much as my truck, but if they really do have them all that would be a porn worthy gear pic to see.

I feel obligated to fling out a pic or something since this is a pic thread. This pic turned out terrible because I don't have the PP magic to fix any of the ones similar to this I took that day (need to boost lighting in everything but the sunset sky among other things).
