It's a bit disconcerting to view that thing from that perspective. .

That's the point.

I managed to get a James Bond type down the barrel picture with a small inspection light up the mag well. That was with a digital point and shoot though, not sure how I would crop things down to work with the massive A series lenses.
Probably a larger caliber barrel for starters. Anyone have artillery handy?

The A50/1.7 wide open.

I've been using this lens all January during the Single in challenge. Its proving to be a great lens, sharp, vibrant colours, excellent for portraits/close ups, with perhaps the only weakness (to me) being the distracting hexagon shaped highlights after around f5.6....it has six blades compared to the 1.4's eight blades.

My favorite setup

I have a different type of post. This is probably my newest favorite combination I like to use when I have time to leisurely take photos. I love this lens and the K3 with focus peaking just makes life so much easier. The A35-105 is such a versatile lens I can't wait for FF to come out.

Me, too ... my A35-105 doesn't get out enough and would be wonderful on a digital FF ... Salut, J

SMC Pentax-A 135mm f2.8

SMC Pentax-A 28mm f2.8

SMC Pentax-A 50mm f1.7

SMC Pentax-A 70-210mm f4. Not the sharpest of lenses, but its rendering just has something I can't quite explain. And since it's not that great straight out of the camera, it allows me to experiment with PP and not feel like I'm ruining a great picture...

Great photos in here, like the bike shot Christian!

Have any of you folks compared the A50/1.2 or 1.4 with the Zeiss ZK 50/1.4?
