Here's my first attempt with my K10D:

I haven't used that many of the A series but of those few the 50/2.8 macro is certainly my favourite.

Following on from our previous conversation.

Here's one I posted from today... an example of the type of image you can expect, once you've got her tamed, shot wide open at F2.8

That is beautiful, KD. That sure is something to aim for. I normally don't shoot wide open with macro lenses but I'll give it a try.

Just be selective as to what and where you want to be sharp... the rest then just falls into place.

I took the A 50 f/1.2 back to the park this morning. From f/1.4 on down, it renders like a shorter version of the FA 77 Limited... and I really like the FA 77.

I took the little A 28mm f/2.8 out for the first time in ages, probably since I took it to Italy in January 2018. Nothing very inspired but it was good to use it.

Pentax K10D and SMC Pentax-A Macro 50mm f2.8. (Cross posted).
Have you ever seen one of these? It is an accessory self-timer that screwed into the shutter button on cameras that did not have a built-in self-timer (like my budget model SP1000).

Here it is shown on my Spotmatic SP which did have a self-timer - the silver lever on the left of the lens.

There was a batch of posts on these self timers a short while ago but I don't remember if it was in the film gear porn thread or one on its own.

I always thought that little handle on the left was a self-timer?
I don't have that on my SP500
