Joining the A club, since I recently acquired an A-50 mm f1,4. This lens is just amazing, creamy bokeh and sharp results. The colours are also wonderful, I understand what people mean by "Pentax colours" now

Here are a few recent captures. Not really comparable to what has been posted on this thread, but I'm still learning, so bear with me ...

Mike,

Nice shot! How do like the 15mm? I am assuming this is the Pentax A*15mm/3.5 with the built in filters? Do you find it sharp? How are the corners compared to the center etc? How does it compare to other extreme wides you have tried?

Thanks,

Max

Max, yes it's the A 15mm F3.5 (not a * lens) with the built in filters. The corners are not as sharp as my "kit" zoom, the sigma 18-50 F2.8 at 18mm. You have use quite small apertures, at least 11 for best performance. But I would love to use this lens on a FF DSLR. During the film days one of my favorites was the M20/F4 on the MX and later on the LX, sadly it has developed a slow apature. I'm currently using the FA20 F2.8 on my K10D, it's a really nice lens.

Regards,

Mike

Thanks,

I wish there was a really good super wide prime or zoom. I have the Canon 16-35/2.8 L II and the corners are also only so-so. I shoot quite a lot of interior architecture at 16mm on a FF camera. Right now the Nikon 14-24 G lens is getting great reviews but it costs around $2000. I would then also need an adapter and deal with stop down metering. This lens has a large round front element so mounting filters is an issue.

Photography is always about compromises though...

Don't have any pictures to post due to computer problems, but I just wanted to say that the only lens that I've been shooting with for the last couple of weeks has been my A 28mm f2.8, and I love it, always have! Unfortunately the only A series lens that I own but I'm hoping to fix that sometime soon.

I would love to get an A 50mm f1.4 seeing as how my M 50mm f1.4 requires me to shoot in manual (not that big of a deal) and not having to remember to hit that green button every once in awhile would be nice since I'm very scatter brained

Here are some samples with my new old modified 28mm Image A lens. Note, these are just snaps to check out the lens. Some are pretty awful. Seems OK for $35 though, no?
