Many A lenses come and go, only left two right now:

The A50/2.8 is probably my most used lens, mostly for small gadgets and products. For macros, I really love how the A100/2.8 performs:

I think some people may be under the impression I own nothing but Takumars.

A 100 2.8 Macro

Cold and nasty here in Waterloo. In the spirit of the season I aimed the old macro at a few ornaments on the Christmas tree the other day.

Cheers

A 135/2.8 & A 70-210/4 w/ 2x TC

Here's a contribution from me on the A-series front.

First one is a shot using A 135/2.8 shot at f/4. A lot of people say bad things about this lens due to it's simple optical design and significant amount of purple fringing, but it is still a very sharp lens! It still is a great lens capable of producing outstanding pictures, and the PF can be corrected for in PP if you are shooting digital. It is my cat-in-law modeling for me!

Second shot I was at the beach this past summer, and wanted to get a few decent shots of some of those common birds at the beach (maybe this is a piper or sorts?, i'm not real familiar with birds). This shot was taken with the A 70-210/4 shot at 210 at f/8. I also had a 2x Vivitar TC on there for a little reach. With the TC it was very soft at the wider apertures but by f/8 it was quite sharp. In this shot, I was tracking the bird, and didn't get it quite perfect so the bird isn't tack sharp, but it was one of my favorite pictures from my beach trip.

A 50/1.4

One more for the A-Series! This is with the A 50/1.4 shot wide open in a very dimly lit environment. More of an artistic shot than anything else, but shows what you can do with the DOF of these lenses.

Bump to the A thread! I just recently acquired an A 50/1.7 by feeding the LBA monster in a pawn shop =b the shot of the lens if with SMC tak 50.

I love how I can use the camera dial. The tak is superb and more "warm" but the dial is just easier to access (no, mine has no yellowing). Maybe someday I'll get used to aperture rings, though.

A 50 2.8 Macro

.

Posted elsewhere, but put a few in the A-club where they belong for posterity:

That 2nd-to-last shot is the exact shot I took last week with the Cosina 55
1.2 - the Pentax showed much more detail at the point of focus (goes without
saying,) but somewhat 'tamer' bokeh.

Here's a couple with my K20D and A 70-210 f/4 Macro.

I have an A 24 f/2.8 on the way. I'll post when it arrives.
