Here's a contribution from me on the A-series front.
First one is a shot using A 135/2.8 shot at f/4. A lot of people say bad things about this lens due to it's simple optical design and significant amount of purple fringing, but it is still a very sharp lens! It still is a great lens capable of producing outstanding pictures, and the PF can be corrected for in PP if you are shooting digital. It is my cat-in-law modeling for me!
Second shot I was at the beach this past summer, and wanted to get a few decent shots of some of those common birds at the beach (maybe this is a piper or sorts?, i'm not real familiar with birds). This shot was taken with the A 70-210/4 shot at 210 at f/8. I also had a 2x Vivitar TC on there for a little reach. With the TC it was very soft at the wider apertures but by f/8 it was quite sharp. In this shot, I was tracking the bird, and didn't get it quite perfect so the bird isn't tack sharp, but it was one of my favorite pictures from my beach trip.
