Sorry about that. Was assuming it was allowed looking at all the other people posting even higher resolution pictures.
Pretty surprised that I was the first to get hit by imgwide "warnings".

If you're using vbulletin on the forums you should really make use of the image plugins to detect and limit size of pictures on threads. Or simply deactivate the img tag and enforce imgwide.

You weren't the first :-). Just maybe the first in this thread about whom anything was said publicly, which is why I felt it prudent to comment.

I have suggested some level of automation. Apparently it's easier said than done. The problem with IMGWIDE is that if your image is small, the software upsizes it, giving you a big soft image. So unfortunately, for now it is up to the individual to select the proper tag.

Some of them began in 1984 and were produced until 2004. The A 50mm f1.2 and A 400mm f5.6 were made that entire span. In fact, Pentax has been assembling the 50mm f1.2 again in the Vietnam plant. To see when a specific lens came out and production ceased, look at the Dimitrov site. I based my response on that site AND Pentax sales brochures.

Pentax K-Mount Lenses and Lens Accessories

Keep in mind that all models were not released at the same time nor was production stopped at the same time. However, there was a core set released in 1984.

A 50mm wide open

I know the focus is a bit too "close" but it was pretty hard to do this handheld at 1/6 and trying to reach close to something hanging high up.

I think the result was pretty fun though

Indiana Wildflowers

Here are three from my A 35~70 on my K20. (The f/3.5-4.5 version, not the f/4.) All at Mounds State Park, Indiana, 70mm at f5.6.

Bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis)

Marsh Marigolds (Caltha palustris)

Hepatica (Hepatica nobilis)

There are four good reviews on the lens section here on this forum.

I can certainly recommend its faster cousin the SMC Pentax-A* 135mm F1.8 if you can get your hands on one.

Yup, I was hoping to see more pics from the lens as well.

Still, I succumbed to my first impulse buy this year (hey, at least I made it as far as mid-April!) and picked up an A 135mm F2.8 in quite good condition; a few scuff marks on the retractable hood, clean glass, good mechanical feel.

Just fooling around:
