Starscape "centred" on the South Celestial Pole as viewed from the NSW Far South Coast, Australia on 16 February 2023. The Milky Way is rising on the left; the Small Magellanic Cloud is descending on the right. The exciting (to me anyway

) feature is the pink glow from Aurora Australis or Southern Lights. Generally not visible to the naked eye at only 36.5 degrees South latitude, but partly discernible with averted vision on this occasion.
K1 + IRIX 15/2.4 (Blackstone) 30 seconds @ f2.8 ISO1600. Minor crop to adjust alignment of the bridge, which was lit for a few seconds with a small hand held torch.
