FYI, I just posted a deal thread for the IRIX 15mm Blackstone at 475$ (instead of 675$)

Will be interesting to see if they honor the sales at that price. Pretty sure it's an error, as the Firefly has that same price. ;-)

I just purchased one (many thanks), and will soon be part of the Irix community!

After I ordered, the website said there was one left. This morning when I looked, that one was gone, and the price was back up to $675. I'd check back during this cyber weekend. Perhaps they may decide to sell a few more at the price.

Thanks again to Weevil for the heads up on the Irix Blackstone 15mm sale recently.
Took it out for its maiden voyage last night with the K1. I cheated and cropped this a bit as the water prevented me from getting close enough to frame as desired, so please accept my "full frame" apologies. I'm looking forward to more time with this lens.

Kiruna Church, Sweden.

Not corrected for vignetting since doing so brings out the infamous halo flare; the middle chandelier is dead centre.

Irix Blackstone 15 mm on the K1
Four frame panorama, each frame consisting of 5 stacked quick shots.
The focus infinity notch is really a nice touch.

Hi all,

I'm a new member of this club !
Just bought a 15mm from B&H while on a trip to NYC.

I've only had time this morning to walk around my block in Brooklyn and took some tests pictures below.
I've quickly checked for de-centering issue and it seems ok, ill do more tests later today.

On the quality side, this lens looks really well build but I've got an issue with the Focus lock ring that moves the Focus ring at the same time, therefore it's not usable
Is there any thing I can do to soften the Focus lock ring ?

And is there a video somewhere about setting the infinity ourselves with the included mechanism ? Im not sure yet mine is correctly set from factory.

Seems like a great lens IQ wise, I was dreaming of a great 15mm for FF, and I think I may have found it, and this group has been really helpful for me to decide which lens to buy.
There has been a great set of amazing pics here.

When I set the focus lock I just hold the focus ring with my left hand and turn the focus lock with my right hand. Works for me.

Nice images!

Irix provides lens profiles for the two camera lenses (11mm and 15mm lens) for free - i use this profiles at lightroom 6, the correction is really good, corrects 100% vignetting and distortion.

That's what I'm trying to do but the focus lock ring is too sticky....
Thanks for the tip!

Be sure you only turn the lock ring, the rings are close to each other. The lock ring does require a bit of effort to fully engage it.
