Hi everybody, my name is Jose, I am a new user of the forum who is looking for buying a Irix 15mm firefly, could anybody upload some photos of the body of the lens, especially of the mount, I would like to be sure that it will fit in my k5iis, and I would like to see it, because there is no information about our mount. Best regards everybody.
I have an Irix 11mm "Blackstone" and use it on a K-1 and a K-50 - works great on both.

I found Irix 15/2.4 Blackstone ideal for photographing miniature dioramas, those in the pictures are 1:25. Great thing is you can control the DOF as much as you like. At practical distances of 25-100 cm, the DOF can be entirely flat (f/2.8), intermediate (f/5.6) or encompass the whole diorama depth (f/11). All pictures from Pentax K-1.

Observatoire populaire du Mont-Mégantic sous la Voie Lactée / Popular Observatory of Mont-Mégantic under the Milky Way

Parc National du Mont-Mégantic, Québec, CANADA

2019.08.29

During an activity called "Popular Observatory Evening" proposed by the ASTROLab at Mont-Megantic, I rather choose to stay a bit apart and willing to capture the starfield and Milky Way on top of this magnificent mountain. Unfortunately, after a last-minute tripod change, I forgot to bring the appropriate quick release plate to fix the camera on that tripod head (damn!).

However, with the gear accessories I had on hand, like a couple of spring clips and an L-bracket, I was able to just stabilize my gear enough, I'd say in an hazardous way, in order to make those long exposure shots (30s and more @ ƒ/2.8 and ISO 1600 to 2500) in order to get quite nice shots of the Milky Way and surrounding starscapes.

Pentax K-1 (in bulb mode with ASTROTRACER enabled and calibrated) + Irix 15mm ƒ/2.4 Blackstone Lens

(Single frame)

30s @ ƒ/2.8 and ISO 2500

Two outings with my IRIX 15mm f2.4 Blackstone on K1; a couple of seascapes to start, followed by a visit to an old/new road bridge. Far South Coast, NSW Australia.

Based on the awesome pics here, I have decided to get the 15mm Blackstone. It is a blast shooting at 15mm. So far am pleased with the purchase. Here some samples:

A couple of aurora shots I got this week in Nellim, Lapland. Both with K1 and IRIX 15mm Blackstone. Both uncropped.

Here are four more Aurora Borealis shots; all K1 with IRIX 15mm Blackstone but no astrotracer.
Taken in Nellim, Lapland, northern Finland.
