Your processing gives the image an overall gritty feel that goes well with the subject matter and I like how the fire truck seems to stand apart from that grittiness with its color and shine...cheers!

My first attempts at capturing lightning, taken last night during a brief but intense storm that passed by.

Both taken with the 10-17mm @ 10mm

I would say this was a good first attempt at catching lighting. I always seem to catch the end of the burst and not during the lighting. I will have to try some more after all I do live in the midwest where we are supposed to have the big storms. Well some of the time at least??

Thanks! Yeah this is a daily occurrence for us here for an average of 100 days or so a year so there are many opportunities. However for some reason last night when I noticed a continuous series of flashes outside the window I figured I'd give it a go...been meaning to for some time but just never got around to it. But by that time the show was close to over and the mosquitoes soon found me anyways so I will have to be a little more prepared...but not bad for an impromptu situation...also getting a tripod would be useful too.

I don't mean to be. Honest. I'll post gentler, friendlier pics when I get home later.

I bet the sand between the toes and that water felt good, didn't it?

One week after massive flooding hit our city and surrounding towns I went down to the river with the 10-17. Water levels are dropping but still exceptionally high.

K-5 with 8mm Samyang FE

Here are some recent FE shots from my 365 project.

Oklahoma City Memorial

Valley of the Gods, Utah
I added no color to this one. I am wondering if all of the green and purple could be caused by the aurora borealis this far south?
