Yes-Yes...same here. Much depends on how the shot is composed.

For fisheye purists, some fishy goodness with the 10-17.

I like the drama that it creates over the de-fished picture.

I admire how you had some nice control over the flare in those shots, not at all like the experience I had a few weeks ago combining my old Samigon 180-degree Fish-Eye with my Helios 44-2 f/2 58mm. In this shot the flare was practically melting the buildings in the background! (Cross-posted in the Flare for Flare thread)

thank you - my post-processing software (Luminar) helped a lot in pulling the details and contrast back down to reasonable levels and when I shoot, I try to underexpose the highlights, since it's easier to bring them up than to try to recover them....

Thanks Eddie! The fisheye with the short focal length helps a little in that regard.

The light shining through that steam is a really cool effect, oops, I guess it's a really hot effect.

You were right first time. Those are clouds and at nearly 8000 feet it is definitely cool.

I'm trying a new dance partner for my old Samigon 180-degree Fish-Eye Lens, my SMC Pentax-A 35-80mm. Using it near 80mm, I get corner to corner coverage. Then I can set the Pentax aperture on A and shoot my K110D in Progam mode. these are three taken around Canton, Illinois, today:

NEXT MORNING POSTSCRIPT:
* You will have noticed that the metal pieces nearest the lens are out of focus in the second picture. The front of the lens was 2-to-3 inches from them!
* There are some darkened spots in the light areas of the third picture. Those are snowflakes on or very near the front element of the lens, where they were in focus enough to cause shadows.
