Thank you. It took a lot of time with mouse & keyboard to make it look like that, but no more time, probably, than I used to spend in a darkroom coaxing the best out of a B&W negative - and I didn't have to deal with those chemicals all over my fingers or breathing their miasma.

First image I have seen from the 18/11. Looks rather soft away from the centre.

I think this was taken at f/16; this lens has no focus ring and just 4 click stops (11, 16, 22, 32) for the aperture. The corners improve slightly as you stop down, but never completely sharpen; here's one at f/22:

Other examples can be found here.

With its unique presentation, and simple features, it's actually quite liberating and fun to use.

Cheers, Allan

I remember when my folks raised chickens for meat. Each year they would get 50 or 100, and we raised them to the right age and size, and butchered them, filling the deep freezer.

It always seemed so odd how they were so totally comfortable around us.

As if they had inherited the knowledge that this was their lot in life.

Get hatched, scratch at feed and bugs for a few months, then wind up drawn and quartered, in a place similar to the South Pole.

More Fish-eye-Takumar 17/4 fun ... I had to take the land yacht to the Renault dealership to get a new and expensive card key ... a half hour wait, so I had some fun and a few stares, too ...
