A Common Evening Primrose soaks up the warm morning sun, behind is an old railroad bridge which hasn’t seen a train in over sixty years. The flowers were less than a foot from the lens!.

Not a famous wildflower, but I have long thought the Evening Primrose has its own kind of loveliness. The stalks, with seed pods, are quite easy to identify after they have dried, too. Some people use them in winter bouquets. The pods gradually split apart from the top so that the seeds can fall out and scatter. If you break up a seed pod in your hand, you find that the seeds look very much like bits of ground coffee.

Yea! Got my HD DA 10-17 today! I’ll give it a quick spin on my way to back home. Quick and dirty from post office to my workshop little a bit did give me an idea of what is going to be what. I’m using it in FF and crop mode with my K-1. That crazy 180 round view is fun! I’ll try to make 360 out of it too..will be back soon!

So prepare for a flood of images. Not sure what I think of that 10 mm look in FF, but sure it does look fun. What do you guys think?

not round

Almost

and round

i do personally think that it is great to have that option in one lens, it is a zoom after all. And I can just put it in aps-c mode if I want clean more normal fishy stuff. I had fun today, and 'm lookin for more i does take time to get to know this kind a lens..

There's only two ways to get all of Crater Lake, from one side to the other, in a single shot: either shoot multiple shots and stitch them together, or shoot it with a fisheye. Here's Crater Lake shot with the F 17-28:
