Now that looks like it would be one hell of a hike with camera gear with you. Great shot.

THX! 10-17 was permanently on these trips. He swapped 20-40 on the camera.

The same 10-17mm. I left in the lower left corner the chromatic aberrations, which are part of the character of this lens

The composition with the leading lines of the cable and ridge line take your eye away from the aberrations anyway, if you didn't mention it, I wouldn't have noticed it.

THX. Without this lens, this composition was not possible.

Hello members of the fisheye club!

I'm currently working on the review for the updated, HD version of the Pentax 10-17mm. I notice a lot of shots posted with the 10-17, but for most people the difference between HD and SMC is not important enough to mention, users only refer to their lens as "the 10-17". I can understand that, it's simpler and perfectly ok.

Here's my request: I'd like to get in touch with any user who owns the HD 10-17 and would like to contribute images for the samples gallery which is included with each review. Images are shared with roper credit and help flesh out the samples gallery.

Thanks in advance, I look forward to seeing your pictures!

I am glad you are reviewing this great and iconic Pentax lens. I hope you can draw comparisons between the lens, as I have the original and am contemplating selling it and replacing it with the HD. I am not worried about the coating, but would like the removable hood feature in order to shoot circular photos.

Looking forward to the review.

I do not have access to the previous version of the lens, so it won't be a comparison review. I will absolutely be able to comment on the removable hood and its operation on full frame, however.
